Outside or Online Pharmacy Policy
We understand why our clients may want to purchase medications from online retailers or outside pharmacies instead of directly from us. To help you make the most informed decision for your pet, we want to stress that it is in your pet’s best interest if you only purchase products from a properly accredited and certified veterinary pharmacy.
Please understand that answering faxes, emails and phone requests from outside pharmacies is time consuming, and we are choosing to spend our time focusing on taking care of patients and clients. Managing outside prescriptions costs us in terms of staff time and effort, because it takes a significant amount of time to review medical records, ensure proper documentation of the medication request, and call/fax in the prescription.
Therefore, effective immediately, we will no longer approve prescription requests from outside pharmacies by phone, email or fax.
If you choose to purchase medications from another source, we will give you a hand-written prescription that you can take or mail to any pharmacy of your choosing.
