Catriona Love, DVM
Medical Director
Growing up in Connecticut, Dr. Love always had a strong interest in medicine and a love for animals—so becoming a veterinarian was a natural choice! She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut, and went on to earn her DVM from the University of Florida, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Love worked as a veterinary assistant and says she enjoys veterinary medicine because of the challenges it offers. As a doctor she has a special interest in the areas of internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasonography. Dr. Love shares her home with her husband Dave and their daughter Daphne, who is the light of their lives. Their animal family members include Nola, a marsupial/chihuahua mix from Australia and two ginger cats named Phil and Orange Blossom. When she’s not working, Dr. Love enjoys skiing, camping, food, travel, and wine.
Megan
Hospital Director
Meet Megan, our dedicated manager at Mercer Street Veterinary. Since 2021, Megan has brought her passion for animal care when she relocated from her hometown in California to Washington. Holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from Azusa Pacific University, Megan’s background in communications and business has equipped her with valuable skills for leading our team. Having worked across various hospitals within the Cara family, Megan’s commitment to enhancing client and patient satisfaction shines through. She is particularly passionate about fostering team member growth and advocating for mental health awareness within the community. Megan’s journey into veterinary management was inspired by a life-changing encounter with her beloved dog, Ruby, whom she rescued from the side of the road. The compassion and expertise demonstrated by the veterinary staff during Ruby’s recovery motivated Megan to redirect her career towards a path filled with love and care for animals and their owners. Outside of work, she indulges in calligraphy, kayaking, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Megan shares her life with her husband, Anton, and their cherished companions: Dean, Ruby, and Fergus the cat.
Elizabeth Teyssier, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Teyssier’s first patient was her childhood orange tabby who she diligently cared for while he recovered from hip surgery. Since then, she has continued to have a passion for both medicine and animals. Dr. Teyssier has always wanted to work in general practice, as it allows for long term relationships to form with patients and their families. She is particularly interested in finding ways to make trips to the vet lower stress for pets, allowing them to receive better care overall. Originally from Southern California, Dr. Teyssier fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while attending Veterinary School at Oregon State University. She lives with two cats, Lady Sybil and Scoop, Periwinkle the dog, and her wife Molly. When not in the clinic you can find her cooking, crafting, and trying to convince the cats they actually did in fact already eat dinner.
Giovanni Jerrett
Assistant
My name is Giovanni and I have loved all animals since I was a baby. I have lived in Seattle my whole life and grew up going to Woodland Park constantly. Prior to COVID changing the protocol, I used to go to Seattle Humane, Seattle Animal Shelter, and PAWS Lynnwood frequently just to hang out with the dogs and cats that they had. I have a Siberian Husky named Brutus and a Doberman named Seven as well as two cats named Blambz and Usagi.
Piper Selmon, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Selmon graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 after completing her clinical year of vet school at Colorado State University. She moved to Seattle soon after to start working in small animal general practice. She enjoys general practice because it allows her to help animals in her many different areas of interest, which include surgery, managing chronic endocrine disease, and dentistry. As an advocate for the pet, Dr. Selmon truly believes communication is key to forming a trusting relationship with families so that their pet receives the best quality care. Originally from San Francisco, Dr. Selmon has also lived in Texas and the Caribbean. As much as she enjoyed the warm weather there, her visits to the Pacific Northwest caused her to fall in love with the area…and the coffee! Her two dogs, a puggle and a Boston Terrier seem to fit right in as well with routine walks around Green Lake. Dr. Selmon is also passionate about travel and always looking for a new place to explore, especially if scuba diving might be involved. She loves to learn new things both in and outside of the hospital.
Holly Hinnant, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Holly Hinnant is a West Seattle native and sought out any opportunity to spend time with animals growing up, even relentlessly for a dog until her parents gave in and got a yellow lab puppy. She dreamed of being a vet for as long as she can remember, and this dream became a reality when she graduated from WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2024. Dr. Holly attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for her degree in Animal Science and has worked with a variety of animals, from polo ponies to research beagles and dairy calves. Dr. Holly is excited to start her career with Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital and learn from their wonderful doctors and staff. She enjoys building client and patient relationships and working with pet parents to ensure their pets live their healthiest and happiest lives. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Holly and her partner, Fred (also a vet) have three dogs – Annabelle, Cheddar, and Pinto – and one cat, Eowyn. She is excited to return to horseback riding now that she is out of school, and hopes to have more time to read, hike, bake, paint, and sculpt.
Lance
Assistant
Hi, my name is Lance (they/them)! I’ve been in love with vet medicine and animal care since I was a child. I grew up spending many days riding horses, running with dogs, and playing with cats. Animals have always played an intrinsic part in my life, and I am grateful to come into work every day and care for all animals that walk through our doors. Mercer Street Vet has welcomed me with open arms into the animal medicine field and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!
Sabryna Williams
Lead Receptionist
Sabryna and her black cat named Binx, come from southern California but have lived in Tennessee and Texas before making Seattle their new home in Dec 2021! They enjoy taking walks with Binx on his harness, reading mystery novels during the rain or cuddling up on the couch for the latest horror movie. Sabryna can often be found as the first face you see when walking into Mercer Street and provides a friendly smile with a compassionate attitude to every client and fur friend!
Kella Wescott
Veterinary Assistant
I fell in love with vet med when I was 12 following our vet around my aunt’s farm; dehorning goats, deworming, and caring for sick animals. I later got to work with her as a volunteer at the Kootenai county humane society. After keeping a kitten or two… or three I decided this was for me. I started as a vet assistant in 2019 and am now starting my second semester of LVT school at Penn foster. I have a passion for chihuahuas with their tongue hanging out but love every animal that walks through the door like my own. Outside of work you can find me at a skatepark, or hanging with my dawgs.
Reid Mallett
Lead Veterinary Assistant
Hi! I’m Reid (they/them) and I am currently a veterinary assistant at MSVH! I am in technician school right now and hope to be licensed very soon! I really love to cook, do most crafts, and draw pictures of my cats! I love to hang out with my friends and am lucky enough to call the whole team at MSVH a good friend!
Trisha Almeida
Veterinary Assistant
Trisha is mom to two dogs, three cats, a leopard gecko, and a guinea pig and is a lover of hiking, reading and the arts.
Briar Edwards
Veterinary Assistant
Briar grew up in rural NM, and started working as a kennel attendant in a practice in Albuquerque when they were about 15 years old. They joined the MSVH team in early 2020 and have been with the practice since before the move to our new space. Their favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is emergency and urgent care, as well as client education. When they are not working, they can typically be found bird watching, searching for mushrooms, and hiking with their dog Coyo, or at home with their pets and partner. They also enjoy illustration, a good movie or TV show, and cooking to destress.
